Serving Gainesville and Hall County
(770) 766-7584How it goes
One call, one visit, a yard you can mow again
Call and describe the stump
Rough diameter, how many, what town you are in, and how the machine can reach the backyard.
You get a quote before work
We price the job on size, root spread and access — no work starts until you know the number.
Ground out and raked level
The stump goes below grade, chips get backfilled or hauled, and the spot is left ready for seed.

Local grinding work
Red clay, pine and oak — the stumps around here
Hall County yards are full of hardwood stumps with roots that run wide and shallow through packed clay. That changes how long a grind takes and how much root work goes with it. We size the job on what is actually in your yard instead of quoting a flat number over the phone.
We are a mobile service, so the equipment comes to you — front yards, tight backyards behind a gate, fence lines and lot corners.

Common questions about stump grinding
How much does stump grinding cost in Gainesville, GA?
Cost depends on the stump, not a flat menu price. The biggest factors are diameter at the widest point, how far the surface roots run, how tight the access is for the machine, and whether the wood is soft pine or dense oak or hickory. Multiple stumps in one visit almost always cost less each than a single call-out. We quote the job before any work starts.
How long does stump grinding take?
Most single residential stumps are ground out in roughly 30 minutes to two hours once the machine is in place. Wide hardwood stumps, heavy surface roots, or a backyard that needs the equipment walked through a narrow gate add time. A typical yard with two or three stumps is usually a single-visit job, and cleanup is part of that same visit.
How deep do you grind the stump?
For normal lawn use we grind several inches below grade so you can rake soil over the spot and put down seed or sod. If you plan to plant a new tree, pour concrete, or set a post in the same location, tell us up front — that calls for a deeper grind and wider root work, which we can quote at the same time.
Is stump grinding safe for my yard, pipes and utilities?
Grinding is contained work, but it is not blind work. Before we start we look for irrigation lines, septic components, shallow utilities, and landscape lighting, and we ask you what is buried where. Underground utility locates should be requested for anything near a service line. We keep the debris field controlled and shield nearby siding, fences, and glass.
What happens to the hole and the wood chips?
Grinding leaves a mound of shredded wood and soil. Most homeowners let us backfill the hole with those chips and rake it level, which settles over a few months. If you want clean topsoil instead, we can haul the grindings away or leave them for mulch. North Georgia red clay settles slowly, so plan to top the spot off once before seeding.
